I was raised in the Foothills of Boulder Colorado, a beautiful sunny place. A place where you can really feel the hot sun on your back on a cool morning; there is nothing quite like it. I especially like the spring time in the mountains, all of the wild flowers bring out the butterflies and creates really good camouflage for stalking, okay that is just a day dream, but it all seems real when your staring out the window at all the birds and squirrels.
One of my early memories was back in the fall of 1998. I was still a kitten, frisky and full of life. My parents were going on a trip somewhere out of the country, Brazil I think. So I decided to visit my cousin in Telluride. I was so excited when I arrived and bolted out of the car, well you know what they say about curiosity. I soon found myself in unfamiliar territory. Thanks to my parents for their patience and persistence, my wonderful likeness was strategically placed throughout town. A nice lady recognized me from one of my glamour shots. She then sent an immediate email to my mom explaining that she was visiting from another state doing a little skiing and believed that she had her missing family member. Of course, after four months of roughing it I didn't quite look like myself. When mom looked at my picture in the email she couldn't believe her eyes. I think she doubted it was actually me since just a little earlier some one tried to pull a fast one on her. I found out after that mom and dad posted a reward to help find me, and this man stole a fellow feline and turned her in for the reward. Yes that's right her, she was spayed and the local vet was able to place her back with her family. Mom asked the nice lady to leave me at the local Vet's office in Telluride she stopped off at the local humane society and found my sister Emmylou. What a joyful reunion it was and I got a sibling out of the whole deal.
After that fiasco they decided travel was definitely out for me. To occupy my time mom decided to put that old house on 9th and Walnut to good use. Mom likes baking treats for my buds and I, so we opened up "the pantry". Boy, life is good, fresh made treats, sunning in the windows and hanging out with all my furry friends. Mom stays busy in the kitchen while I welcome all the guests. The response was good and Colleen came to help mom with the goodies.
We were such a success that we were soon busting at the seams and our family was starting to grow a bit. Treats and lounging were no longer enough. We started carrying all kinds of creature comforts, from dishes to beds, fancy collars to gourmet meals. Don't tell anyone that the barkday cakes are my favorite. We moved out of that cute little house and into the steel yards, over on 30th and Valmont. Now this is quite the operation, even Ralphie got into the act, what a ham.
If you want to experience the life of a feline come on in and say Hi. There's nothing like a good head rub, and the first round of treats are on me. Don't forget to bring in your family and friends, we love to party!
